Abstract

Values are considered the most powerful determinant factor in the cultural and social system of societies and play a crucial role in explaining, controlling, directing and predicting individuals' acts. Therefore, based on the Ronald Inglehart's theory of value transformation, the present paper intends to examine the condition of peoples' value orientation in order to investigate the relationship between social and economical changes and the type of value orientation. The data were obtained from 31 qualitative interview by individuals with the age range of 18 and above in Bandar Abbas. The analysis of the data revealed that 51.6% of respondents had material value orientation, and 41.9% of them have both material and meta material value orientation while only 6.5 % of them have meta material value orientation. Furthermore, the results show that younger individuals, and also individuals with higher education give more priority to meta material values. Therefore, it may be concluded that in the population investigated for this study, people prefer material values because their basic needs have not been fully satisfied. Moreover, it appears that Hormozgan is still experiencing the hard dimension of development and it is still far away from soft dimension of development. In addition, findings of the present study show that there is a relationship between variables such as social trust, social interaction, and universalism and the type of social value orientation.

Abstract

In this study, using the Network Analysis, the topic of Development and Underdevelopment in Iran, has been studied, with Historical-Experimental Approach and using Secondary Analysis of Empirical Findings. This study is based on analysis of some National Surveys, particular, a National Survey on Iranians Cultural Behaviors and two National Surveys on Iranians Values and Attitudes, which have been conducted, respectively, in the years 1999, 2000 and 2003. Overall, our findings suggest that there are relationships between variables of Social Capital, Social Development. Our assumption in this study was that Lack of Social Capital has led to Lack of Social Development, and this phenomenon, in turn, can play an important role in Underdevelopment of Society. These findings suggest that in terms of some important elements of Social Development, such as Trust in Social Groups, Social Participation, Commitment to the Social Values and Norms, Belonging to National Identity and Culture in Iranian Society, the situation is not desirable. In our opinion, the lack of Social Development would lead to Underdevelopment of Society. Consequently, if we want to achieve the goal of Comprehensive Development of Society, we should provide required backgrounds to increase the levels of Social Capital, and consequently, Social Development.

Abstract

In today's world, sports in terms of championship and professionalism needs new ethics. Thus, in the present applied research, the development of ethical values in the Iranian championship sports was designed and analyzed using the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). A sample of 150 elites and experts in the field of ethics and sports was chosen. For validity of the questionnaire, the formal and content validity method was applied and the reliability of the questionnaire was determined through Cronbach's alpha. Given the qualitative status of ethical values, the application of the fuzzy method is closer to reality than other methods. In this way, the degree and quantitative amount of moral values were calculated through the software MATLAB. The inputs of the model included discourse and consequentialist ethics. Given the high correlation between network inputs and outputs as well as the error rate, the ANFIS model is an optimal model for developing and predicting the virtue ethics values, with its best mode when the the consequentialist ethics values are low.

Abstract

Investigating the factors affecting the tendency toward unmarried joint life among youth in Tehran
In this paper, we have examined a new kind of life, namely cohabitation (two unmarried girl and boy living together) which has expanded in our country for several reasons in recent decades. Also 20 boys and girls who have experienced cohabitation relationships in Tehran are interviewed. The research method used is grounded theory. Using the concepts and categories obtained during the coding process, the causes of the tendency towards unmarried cohabitation have been analyzed and a paradigm model of these concepts and categories has been obtained. The paradigmatic model illustrates the impact of globalization as a major issue on the formation of pre-married cohabitation. Also, based on the presented model, it can be concluded that changing religious values among young people, structural changes in society and changing lifestyles that have been shaped by the influence of globalization among people in the community, especially young people has been provided the basis for the formation and expansion common living home among the young generation.

The  data has been collected from a survey among residents (aged 18-65 years old). Also the samples have been divided into two groups (who socialize before or after oil and gas industries development in this region). The SPSS and AMOS have been conducted to use multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) methods. The results show that gender inequality and religious values are less common among those below 30 years old. This group has been socialized after industrial development in the field.
