Abstract

This study aiming to identify and gender analysis of the factors influencing adolescents’ (12-19 years old) tendency to use the internet, in terms of the purpose, is practical and the method of data collection is descriptive-survey. The sample size is calculated as 220 people using Cochran formula and sampling is appropriate as simple random classification. The data is mainly collected by questionnaire which its validity is approved by formal validity, and its reliability by Cronbach’s Alfa (= 0.81). Data analysis is done by statistical data and annalistic tests (chi-square, Pearson, Independent T, and Expletory Factor Analysis).  Results Show that there isn’t any specific relationship between the gender and amount of internet use. The most important factors which encourage them to use this media are “improving social relationships”, “drawing attention and feeling identified”, “gaining the capability of today’s world”, “experiencing freedom and equality”, and “user friendliness of the space”, which except the second and third factor, other factors have meaningful differences between girls and boys.

Abstract

Death has always been a major concern of humanity. However, encountering unexpected deaths is considered to have been one of the most difficult encounters of human beings throughout history, although this cultural and social encounter has been time-and-place-dependent. On this basis, this study has been designed to explore the process of the bereaved people's presence in the cyberspace and to achieve a deep understanding of the role of cyberspace in the bereaved people's lives using the qualitative approach and grounded theory. The required data were collected using in-depth interviews with some bereaved people who had lost one of their immediate family members for a time period ranging from four months to four years. The collected data were then conceptualized and analyzed using the three open, axial and selective coding processes. The findings showed that the central phenomenon is the bereaved profiles, which represent the occurrence of a loss and virtual memorials. Faced with the bereaved profiles, the bereaved people experience and perceive outcomes by adopting strategies such as deconstruction of virtual sociability. In this way, they ultimately rethink the loss in the cyberspace.

Abstract

In this study, it was sought to achieve a typology related to women's activism in urban spaces of Tehran using a qualitative approach with the phenomenological strategy. Data was collected using in-depth, semi-structured interviews and field observations. Purposive sampling with maximum dispersion was utilized. The sample consisted of 30 women living in Tehran who were interviewed by visiting several crowded points in the north, south, east and west side of Tehran. Data was analyzed using Thematic Analysis. According to the results, women's activism in the spaces of Tehran were classified into economic, social, cultural, sports and leisure activism and dramatic and abnormal activism. Women's activism in each of these areas varied according to their social, economic, and cultural status and capital. Results suggested that the existing structure in urban spaces of Tehran has caused women to be creative and active in some areas, such as leisure activities as well as in relation to the type of clothing and behavior in urban spaces despite the pressures and restrictions. Also women's activism is passive and more in line with the existing structure of some areas like economic domains. However, increasing women's presence in various domains of urban spaces can be the basis for many changes and transformations, which demands structural and cultural changes and changing attitudes towards the status of women, recognition of their capabilities and giving attention to their needs and desires in urban spaces of Tehran, also creating conditions for healthy employment and women's active and creative activism in various spaces of Tehran.
