Abstract

The present study seeks to investigate the role of cultural-historical attractions of rural destinations in the development of cultural tourism in the rural areas. This is an applied research conducted in a descriptive-analytical method. Based on studies on two cities of Mashhad and Binalud, 14 rural areas with historical and cultural attractions were selected as the sample. Using Cochran's formula, the volume of tourists and the host community was determined 196 and 222 respectively. The scope of analysis in this study was "households". The data acquired from questionnaires were analyzed using the statistical analysis methods. The findings show that in these villages, attractions, facilities, services and cultural factors higher than the moderate level, can totally have a positive effect on socio-cultural, cultural-environmental development and development of cultural tourism in general. Besides, in ARAS model for socio-cultural dimension of cultural tourism, the village of Miami was on the top, and the village of Chahak was in the last place. Also according to the research findings, despite many problems in the study area, taking care of the facilities and rural infrastructure of the villages with tourist attractions and relevant advertisements in Mashhad can make way for growth of cultural tourism

Abstract

Achieving sustainable development is impossible without empowering the weak sections of the society. One of the strategies for empowering communities, especially rural communities, are non-governmental organizations or non-governmental organizations, such as charitable organizations, which can provide primary and key development services for marginalized and poor people at the national level as well as at the global level which provide and to some extent cause their well-being and improve their living conditions and capabilities. In this regard, the present study has analyzed the role of non-governmental organization and charitable institution of Imam Ali in empowering the villagers of Qaen County. For this purpose, a study has been conducted using a descriptive quantitative methodology and a survey method. To operationalize the study, 5 villages covered by the development measures of Imam Ali charity organization in Qaen County were selected as samples. Therefore, the statistical population of the study includes all the households of these villages, which were randomly selected through Cochran sampling (one person as a family representative, preferably the head) at the level of rural households, and through a researcher-made questionnaire based on indicators and the extracted variables were used to collect the data. Statistical analysis shows that there is a direct and significant relationship between empowerment and development activities of Imam Ali charity organization. Considering this, it can be said that the development activities of the charity organization have empowered many villagers and it has been able to take a step towards empowering rural households with its development measures. Also, in order to rank the studied villages in the field of empowerment and development activities of Imam Ali charitable organization, the MABAC model has been used, and the people of Khorramabad village have the highest level of perception of empowerment.
